Spring Break 2011

We just got back from our first spring break trip with the girls.  We left the cool/rainy temperatures last Saturday and headed south to Austin for a few days.  It was a welcome change in our minds all around.  We were greeted with consistent 80 degree weather and sunshine, and great company, food, drinks, and beautiful surroundings.  The girls LOVED it!

We enjoyed meals outside, swimming, Sea World, hot tubs, great conversations, catching up with family, boating, playing in the sand, sleeping with cousins in sleeping bags and great views of the city.  I'm sorry we didn't do this sooner!  Thanks so much for having us Jeff, Joanne, Savannah, Marina, Aunt Peggy and Uncle Jack, we had an awesome time!

The girls first amusement ride.  They loved it!

Mommy's Helper

It's so nice here again today, that we decided to eat our lunch outside!  Parker and I were done pretty quickly.  Brecken on the other hand was struggeling to eat...this is just her.  She's slow to eat if she eats at all, which is so frustrating to me.  I had already told her several times she needed to eat, and I was done..Parker was playing, and I was checking email when I caught a glimpse of this..I started recording and the girls had no idea...I just thought it was funny..Parker turned into the mama for a few short minutes to try to get her sister to eat so she could play.  Enjoy!

Spring Time Fun Time

It's finally starting to look/feel like spring around here!  The girls and I spent the entire afternoon outside.  We had a play date right after school for lunch and you guessed it...play time!

We rode bikes, kicked the soccer ball around, talked with neighbors, pretended to be life guards, played Hopscotch..It was a busy but GORGEOUS afternoon!  I'm such a happier momma when the weather is good!

This video is of Parker and Brecken trying out Hopscotch..Parker can do it well....Brecken, not so much, but she looks so darn cute trying!

Brecken on the scooter.

Morgan and Parker with their life vests on, pretending to be life guards and watching out for the people..We all had to evacuate the pool due to an "accident"..someone went potty in the pool:)
They were having a great time!

Two Years

I just realized that it's been exactly two years since I've driven a car...it's amazing how time flies, how we adapt to change, and how seamless it can be sometimes....This week almost came and went, and yet I can't believe I almost forgot this milestone..I'm guessing in another year or so, I will.

We're Still Here

It's been a while since I've posted, but honestly not too much has been going on here.  We've been holed up in the house and have enjoyed the few glimpses of spring we've had thus far.  It's just enough of a tease to make me mad when it gets cold again!

Chris received exciting news a few weeks ago with a promotion to Wichita President of UMB Bank.  With this we've already noticed more late nights working at home and a few extra traveling days then we're used to, but we are excited and proud of him!
Last week the girls and I traveled with him to KC and thought it would be fun to spend a few days with cousins and get a break from the day to day here while daddy attended meetings.  It was an adventure to say the least!

We came home yesterday earlier then we anticipated to give the girls a bit of much needed downtime. Four Cousins + Late nights =Tired  Whiny Girls = Very Tired Parents.  Need I say more?

In the midst of all of the craziness, the girls did enjoy seeing and spending time with their cousins, and had fun.

Hannah & Brecken playing dress up...Brecken had hers on backwards..hence the very deep revealing look she's got going on..

Parker and Lydia

We all met up with grandpa and grandma antsy for an ice cream treat after dinner one night..

As I was downloading pictures, I decided to finally download the pictures that Parker has taken over the course of the last few months.  She likes to take my camera and take pictures...as I was going thru them I just had to laugh!  Enjoy!

This is Parker's scooter she got for her birthday..she staged it apparently and started taking pictures!
