Spring Time Fun Time

It's finally starting to look/feel like spring around here!  The girls and I spent the entire afternoon outside.  We had a play date right after school for lunch and you guessed it...play time!

We rode bikes, kicked the soccer ball around, talked with neighbors, pretended to be life guards, played Hopscotch..It was a busy but GORGEOUS afternoon!  I'm such a happier momma when the weather is good!

This video is of Parker and Brecken trying out Hopscotch..Parker can do it well....Brecken, not so much, but she looks so darn cute trying!

Brecken on the scooter.

Morgan and Parker with their life vests on, pretending to be life guards and watching out for the people..We all had to evacuate the pool due to an "accident"..someone went potty in the pool:)
They were having a great time!

Two Years

I just realized that it's been exactly two years since I've driven a car...it's amazing how time flies, how we adapt to change, and how seamless it can be sometimes....This week almost came and went, and yet I can't believe I almost forgot this milestone..I'm guessing in another year or so, I will.

We're Still Here

It's been a while since I've posted, but honestly not too much has been going on here.  We've been holed up in the house and have enjoyed the few glimpses of spring we've had thus far.  It's just enough of a tease to make me mad when it gets cold again!

Chris received exciting news a few weeks ago with a promotion to Wichita President of UMB Bank.  With this we've already noticed more late nights working at home and a few extra traveling days then we're used to, but we are excited and proud of him!
Last week the girls and I traveled with him to KC and thought it would be fun to spend a few days with cousins and get a break from the day to day here while daddy attended meetings.  It was an adventure to say the least!

We came home yesterday earlier then we anticipated to give the girls a bit of much needed downtime. Four Cousins + Late nights =Tired  Whiny Girls = Very Tired Parents.  Need I say more?

In the midst of all of the craziness, the girls did enjoy seeing and spending time with their cousins, and had fun.

Hannah & Brecken playing dress up...Brecken had hers on backwards..hence the very deep revealing look she's got going on..

Parker and Lydia

We all met up with grandpa and grandma antsy for an ice cream treat after dinner one night..

As I was downloading pictures, I decided to finally download the pictures that Parker has taken over the course of the last few months.  She likes to take my camera and take pictures...as I was going thru them I just had to laugh!  Enjoy!

This is Parker's scooter she got for her birthday..she staged it apparently and started taking pictures!

The bottom of said scooter

The Jayhawks at eye level.. perfect for her..

Her beloved "Horsey"

..and Brecken's "Frogy"

Random Thoughts

Parker insists that these jammies still fit her..They are 3T and fit Brecken perfectly.  Parker promises that Brecken told her that she could wear these forever if she wants them..

This is our second snowman of the year..I'm hoping he's the last.

Parker was very busy helping daddy out..

Brecken doesn't help much..she likes to sit on the sidelines, and let everyone else to the work, while she plays and does her own thing..this is true in other situations as well, such as cleaning up the toys..

Daddy did all the work this time..last time I made the snowman, and I decided that I would sit this one out.  They did a great job!

Painting Party

Brecken has been our pacifier girl.  While she's three, I didn't feel like it was necessary to just take it away from her to make her stop.  She had several that she used during nap time and at night, but slowly she kept chewing a hole in them.  She was down to 2 and I told her that if she continued to chew holes in them, I was going to throw them away, and I wasn't going to be buying her any more..She replied with "mommy, you buy me more"..I repeated it to her, and she totally understood.

She kept those last two paci's for a while, and then she started doing it again.  Then we were down to one!  Well, a few weeks ago, we had a milestone!  She had it for nap time, and it was fine, but when Chris put her to bed, it had a hole..They discussed it, and she knew what was about to happen..They came and told me, and she was fine about it.  When I tucked her in, she told me she was "a big girl now".  It was ok with her.  After taking a look at it later in the night, it was a HUGE hole..like almost falling off...I mentioned it the next morning, to which she replied that "it was just one hole though"..The kids got a point:)

As her reward, for being a big girl, and not being upset at all she got to paint her toenails!!

I have to say, that getting rid of the paci, is WAY easier then the thumb!

Snow Day #3

Here is our day in pictures...obviously not the whole day, but the highlights!  I'm ready for Spring...Winter has been by far the hardest season to be a stay at home mom.

It's never to early to start on your valentines is it?

The girls enjoyed the project..

In the end I had to finished them though...I didn't mind!

"Thumbs up dude"  Brecken's new favorite saying

Snow Ice cream again..it was a hit again, and I have to say that I tweaked the recipe a little and it was much better this time around!

All gone!  Now we're watching Beauty and the Beast.
